Tomorrow does not celebrate Mexican Independance. It celebrates the Mexican army beating the French at the Battle of Puebla and delaying their movements toward Mexico City. The French invaded Mexico again a year later and continued to Mexico City where they toppled the regime of Benito Juarez and Mexico had a French emperor until 1866.
